Sompting Wildlife Rescue

Inside our wildlife hospital

Veterinary nurse-led care from admission to rehabilitation and release.

Sompting Wildlife Rescue is an independent charity founded and run by Registered Veterinary Nurses. Our work extends far beyond collecting sick or injured animals: we provide individualised nursing care, rehabilitation and ongoing support across a wide range of British wildlife species.

Intensive nursing

Support for patients with dehydration, malnutrition, illness, infection, parasite burdens and traumatic injuries, with temperature-controlled care where needed.

Veterinary and postoperative referrals

Ongoing care following surgery, wound management, nutritional support, monitoring and rehabilitation in collaboration with veterinary practices.

Young and orphaned wildlife

Care for vulnerable young animals, with feeding plans and rehabilitation tailored to species and developmental stage.

Preparing for release

Recovery of strength, independence and natural behaviours, followed by release to suitable habitat when appropriate.

Working alongside veterinary practices

We welcome wildlife referral and advice enquiries from veterinary professionals anywhere, subject to the animal's needs, facilities and available capacity. We do not replace veterinary diagnosis or treatment.
