The people behind the rescue

About Sompting Wildlife Rescue

Sompting Wildlife Rescue is an independent, registered charity based in West Sussex, founded by Pete and Gayle, both registered veterinary nurses.

Our work brings together rescue, intensive nursing, rehabilitation and the goal of returning wildlife safely to the wild. From tiny orphaned animals to seriously injured patients, each case is assessed on its individual needs.

100% volunteer-run

Our charity is run entirely by unpaid volunteers, with the support of our trustees, local community and veterinary colleagues. We are grateful to everyone who gives their time, expertise or financial support.

More than a rescue

Our dedicated wildlife hospital allows us to provide specialist nursing care, work with veterinary practices and prepare patients for release when appropriate.
